Cross-country skiing

As one of the best-known and most important cross-country skiing centres in Tirol with more than 200 cross-country ski trails the Lake Achensee region, awarded the Tirolean Cross-Country Ski Trail Seal of Quality multiple times, offers nearly unlimited cross-country skiing fun. Between the majestic mountain ranges of Rofan and Karwendel, cross-country ski trails for classic skiers and skaters delight, as does a dedicated practice trail, barrier-free cross-country skiing and snowmaking facilities in several holiday resorts, which guarantee fun on the trails all winter long just like here in Achenkirch.

Look forward to gently rolling routes along the shore and challenging trails in the valleys of Karwendel, seven cross-country skiing schools in the region and a dedicated dog trail and cross-country trails.

Skiing

Four ski areas, including the Christlum lifts in Achenkirch, and two practice areas with a total of 53 kilometres of pistes and 30 lifts allow unlimited fun on the slopes by Lake Achensee.

The ski area Christlum in Achenkirch is located at between 950 and 1,800 metres and is considered as one of of Austria’s winter sports areas with the most reliable snow conditions offering guaranteed snow from December to April.

Six ski schools, lessons for the little ones, the Kinderland as well as the great number of wide pistes are especially suited for families. But carving fans and snowboarders also appreciate the options, such as the Christl Funpark in Achenkirch.

Family holidays

As a member of the Family Tirol Villages, the region even boasts an extensive range of sports and leisure opportunities for families. The six ski schools even offer specially designed children’s programs, which are geared especially to the needs of the little ones.
