In our family-run establishment, culinary art takes centre stage. You can choose between the Gourmet Inn with traditional specialities served with a modern twist and the creative “Alpin-aroma kitchen” in Gründler’s Gourmet Parlour, where the focus is on creations with venison, merino sheep and fish from the Lake Achensee region.

Our 4-Star-Hotel features 24 rooms and suites, all with balcony, offering all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Our small but excellent “Alpinaria” wellness zone boasts a Finnish sauna, sanarium, two infrared cabins, a massage and relaxation room. Further highlights include an idyllic hotel garden and the very spacious winter garden in modern design, which can be converted into an open-air sun terrace and beckons to relax with unobstructed views.

Three family generations are devoted with heart and soul to the Gourmet Hotel Alpin. They are supported by a fantastic team in the kitchen, service and housekeeping. Father Armin and son Alexander Gründler, the two top chefs in the Alpin, ensure culinary moments of delight both in the Gourmet Inn as well as in the 4-Toque Restaurant Gründler’s Gourmet Parlour. Caroline Gründler, Alexander’s wife, is a skilled pastry chef, qualified wine sommelier and has been managing reception for 15 years.

The multiple award-winning cuisine in the Alpin impresses not only with the culinary skills of Alexander and Armin Gründler, but also with the high quality of the products and their regionality. Pork from the Alpine meadows, merino sheep, suckling calf, etc. come from well-managed farms in Achental Valley, Zillertal Valley and the surrounding regions and form the cornerstones of the Karwendel cuisine in the Alpin! The local mountain and garden herbs also play a crucial role. And when enjoying the slowly reared trout and char from the “Ducal Kreuth fish farm” you can simply taste their origin!

Sustainable

Sustainability and environmental awareness play a crucial role in the Alpin. We place great value on the resource-conserving use of the produce, but the gourmet hotel has also been advocating energy conservation for many years. Thus, we have been connected to the bioenergy district heating since 2012, which saves us 30,000 litre of heating oil annually. Furthermore, heating for our hot water has been generated by our own solar system since 2007.

What would an extensive breakfast be without delicious jams or your favourite dish without the matching spices? And if when enjoying these your thoughts are brought back to your dream holidays by Lake Achensee, then the enjoyment is twice as nice. Have you tasted our black elderberry jelly, our apricot jam or the chilli-vanilla salt yet? Our home-made gourmet treats are also available for sale on site – for even more delights and a bit of Alpin back home!

Summer Night Festival and 25 years of Alpin

We are proud to be able to look back on 25 years in the Alpin and would like to celebrate it with you. We thought of combining this special event with the Summer Night Festival.

Review of our event on March 4th. until April 7th, 2024

The March and April this year were all about enjoyment on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of JRE-Austria - for our guests that meant JRE enjoyment in 3 courses at a sensational friendship price! We came up with very special culinary delights that you could enjoy in our Gourmet Stüberl.

JRE CHEFS ROULETTE

Review of our event on October 4th, 2023

More than 45 JRE top chefs from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia and Croatia swapped their cookers at the JRE-CHEF'S ROULETTE 2023. This time as a guest chef, Josef Floh from the Floh restaurant in Langenlebarn, a very creative and imaginative chef who has been awarded three toques, surprised our guests. Regionality and sustainability play a major role not only in Alpin but also at Josef Floh. He also always puts rare vegetables and grains on his plate, which you could also see in the dishes: carrot & queenoa, a sensational butterfish, mushroom & wagyu, celeriac and sweet spinach to finish. The dishes were accompanied by a well-balanced wine pairing, put together by qualified wine sommèlier Caroline Gründler. Armin Gründler, himself a four-toque chef and chef de cuisine at Alpin, was visibly satisfied with Josef Floh.
